Before you plant your strawberries you most first test the work ability of the soil(its begins to be workable around early March to early April, wish is the best time to plant strawberries to get the maximum yield. Everbearing strawberries are an exception to the no 1st year fruit rule. In their case, pinch off all blossoms until mid-summer of the 1st year; after that, let the plants flower naturally. By that time it be strong enough to support their fall crop without damaging itself.
From the time you first remove the strawberry pit from its container to the end of the planting process, the roots should never be exposed to sun or drying winds. If the day is sunny, the plants should be shaded at all times.
